Marlene Busse, an administrative support associate for Student Services, was honored with a Department of Agronomy and Horticulture Staff Advisory Committee Special Contribution Award at the department’s spring picnic, April 21. This award honors those who have gone above and beyond their usual job duties in a way that greatly benefits the department and/or the university.
Busse was nominated by her coworkers for her positive, upbeat attitude and unfailing willingness to listen and share her knowledge. According to her nominators, Busses’ familiarity, experience and historical knowledge of the graduate programs is incomparable. She gets answers to questions solved and never loses sight of the people for whom she is working.
Busse has worked for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the department for 21 years and plans to retire this June.
SAC presents two $250 Special Contribution Awards each calendar year. These awards are available to any Department of Agronomy and Horticulture permanent staff member beyond the initial probationary period of employment.
The second 2017 SAC Special Contribution Award will be presented at the department holiday party in December. Please submit nominations to Ashley Burns-Hassebrook, SAC chair, at aburns5@unl.edu.
