University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension will host the third annual Nebraska Grower and Brewer Conference and Trade Show Jan. 13-14 at Embassy Suites – Downtown Lincoln, 1040 P Street.

Ginger Johnson, connector, speaker, author, solutionist, marketer, and TEDx alum, will present the keynote address. She brings energy and enthusiasm including helping people to connect on purpose with a service mindset. According to Johnson, participants should be ready to hit the ground running.

The two-day event will feature a variety of sessions for hop growers, craft brewers and those interested in directly supporting the industries. Several prominent speakers from around the country will be discussing topics including the market outlook, horticultural practices of growing hops, brewery safety, pest and disease control, taproom management, harvest and post-harvest practices, nutrient management, technical brewing, and marketing.

“It’s a fact: beer is global. To bring the Nebraska hop growers and Nebraska brewers together provides synergies and opportunities to grow together,” Johnson said. “As a longtime beer pro and enthusiast, as well as professional connector, it’s an ideal scenario to create and foster productive conversation to support the industry which in turn serves our fine customers.”

A reception showcasing beer from several breweries across the state will be held Sunday evening, Jan. 13 and is open to all conference attendees.

This event is sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Nebraska Hop Growers Association, Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild and Midwest Hop Producers, LLC.
