Understanding Student Learning and Motivation
Date and Time: Oct. 22, 2019, 3:30 pm
Henzlik Hall Room: 53
Contact: lrohde2@unl.edu
Students may be more motivated to participate in one class than another. Grades are not always enough to motivate students to do the work. This workshop will focus on understanding how students learn and what motivates them. We will discuss how you can use this information to encourage students to engage in your class. This workshop will count toward CIRTL Associate Status.

Creating an Individual Development Plan
Date and Time: Oct. 31, 2019, 3:30 pm
Teachers College Hall Room: 105
Contact: eomar2@unl.edu
Creating an Individual Development Plan will help you identify long-term career goals that fit with your unique skills and interests, allowing you to set short-term goals to keep you on track. An IDP is a great tool to help facilitate productive conversations with your advisor so you can work together to build a program that will help develop your skills. We recommend all graduate students create an IDP, and this workshop will help walk you through the process.
