Environmental Engineers of the Future (E2F) is providing $10,000 for Students Starting a Master's in Env. Eng. in Fall 2020

Environmental Engineers of the Future (E2F) is providing $10,000 to selected students that will attend one of 68 participating universities. E2F has given almost $1.3 million to master’s students, and E2F employers have hired approx. 55 of the funded grad students for full-time Civil & Environmental Eng. positions

PURPOSE

To develop a funding program that will encourage qualified students who have a broad interest in various environmental engineering fields, such as municipal water, wastewater, solid waste, air quality, water resources, hazardous waste, sustainable engineering, and energy recovery, to enroll in Master of Science programs in Environmental Engineering.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM

Funding per selected student, in the amount commensurate with in-state tuition and living expenses, specified by the universities, not to exceed $10,000, toward a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at pre-approved schools and involving pre-approved core courses would be provided. A consortium of public and private entities that employ environmental engineers with advanced degrees provides the funds for the Program (currently these include: Black & Veatch, Carollo Engineers, CDM Smith, City of Phoenix Water Services Department, King County, Washington Wastewater Treatment Division, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts and Parsons).

Students must complete a Master of Science degree and work for one of the sponsoring organizations for a minimum of two years. Students will be required to show they have taken the identified core and elective courses (see the course list for the appropriate university: https://www.engineeringmastersfunding.org/Emastersfunding/universities.asp); however, there will be latitude in taking other breadth courses. A student selected to receive funding will be required to sign a contract agreeing with the terms of the program. Applicants must have a legal right to attend school and work in the United States during participation in the program and the required two-year employment period.
