Teaching-Track Faculty Position

Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications at the Assistant Teaching Professor level for a teaching faculty member. This is a teaching-track appointment, with a defined schedule of review as per university policy. Candidates with an educational background in civil and/or environmental engineering and experience and passion for teaching, primarily at the undergraduate level, are encouraged to apply. Highly-qualified applicants at the Associate Teaching Professor level will also be considered.

We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague with the ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The expected teaching responsibility for this position is the equivalent of six courses per year (three each semester). You will also have the opportunity to initiate and supervise undergraduate research projects, mentor students, and serve on department, college and university committees. You should have a doctorate in civil and environmental engineering or a related field by the start date for the position. Having, or being committed to obtain, a professional engineer license is expected. In your application, please discuss your potential contributions to our educational mission.
