Job Description: Assist experienced engineering staff on various aspects of water resource related projects: perform river and lake surveys, prepare analysis and calculations using standard engineering formulas and standards, utilize water resource modeling software including HEC-RAS and other standard programs to analyze water resource projects, employ GIS programs to visualize results, and prepare reports. Qualifications Requirements: Related Secondary Education (Note: Transcripts are required to illustrate course work.)  To qualify for GS-03 grade: successfully completed one year (30 credit hrs) of education above the high school level that included at least 6 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, industrial technology, construction, physics, physical science, or mathematics by May 2023; 6 months related technical work experience may be partially substituted for education.  To qualify for GS-04 grade: Students must have completed at least 2 full academic years of related post-high school study (60 credit hrs) by May 2023; 6 months related technical work experience may be partially substituted for education. Additional Information:  Location: Omaha, Nebraska  This is a full-time temporary position during summer 2023 (or part-time during the school year) for students enrolled in a water resources degree program.  Includes surveys and data collection working on or near the water  Flexible daily work schedule  Starting pay varies from $13 to $16/hour  Conditions of Employment: o Must be a U.S. Citizen. o Personal Security/Background investigation required.
