Modeling water and solute transport between the land surface and underlaying aquifers/water tables (i.e., the vadose zone)

» Learn theoretical frameworks to predict the fate and transport of fluids and chemicals under variably-saturated and transient conditions
» Discover historical foundations, motivations, advances, and outcomes in modeling homogenous and heterogeneous (structured) soils
» Apply contemporary vadose zone models to engineering, environmental, and agricultural problems
» Gain experience with model selection and validation, the influence of boundary conditions, initial conditions, and hydraulic properties, and solving real-world issues
