The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Transportation Engineering, effective January 2024. This position is expected to be filled at the rank of assistant professor. A Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering is required. Professional Engineering licensure (PE) or plans to pursue PE registration is expected.

All faculty members in the CEE Department are expected to develop a strong record of scholarly work and sponsored research. Likewise, candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service.

A successful candidate is expected to have a focus in Transportation Engineering. Faculty members will be expected to work across multiple program areas within and outside the department as we expand our focus on transportation-related areas. Ideally, competitive candidates should have experience and/or training in transportation system resilience, public transportation, transportation
mobility equity, freight transportation modeling, transportation economics, transportation policy sustainability, air quality, transportation operations, congestion management, connected and automated vehicles, human factors, acritical intelligence in transportation, and transportation big
data and cybersecurity etc. A successful candidate will be required to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate coursework focused on transportation, as well as more traditional areas of civil and environmental engineering.
