Mahyar Mahdavi Hezaveh: Utilizing Fermentation HAP Air Emissions Data to Improve Ethanol Sustainability
Ethanol production facilities release hazardous air pollutants, and there are regulations governing the level of these emissions. Conventionally, these emissions are managed using wet scrubbers and thermal oxidizers. By implementing Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) in ethanol plants, the efficiency of scrubbers can be enhanced, resulting in reduced water and energy usage.

Dariush Jafari: Analysis of recommendations on wastewater and manufacturing E2
This study primarily aims to evaluate the present state of energy consumption and environmental impacts across diverse Nebraska municipal wastewater treatment plants previously assisted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, encompassing both products and capacity. The goal is to analyze the data and identify opportunities for these plants to minimize utility consumption, leading to annual greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions through technical recommendations. The study also seeks to provide estimated costs associated with Dariush Jafari annual GHG reduction measures.
