Opportunities for Civil / Water Resource Engineering Students
Omaha District Corps of Engineers – Hydrologic Engineering Branch

Description:
• Location: Omaha, Nebraska
• Full‐time temporary position during summer 2024 (potential for part‐time during school year)
• Assist experienced engineers on various community focused water resource related projects:
o perform field work such as river and lake surveys and data collection equipment maintenance
o prepare analysis using standard engineering formulas and water resource modeling software
o employ GIS programs to visualize results and prepare reports

Qualifications:
(Note: Transcripts are required to illustrate course work.)
• GS‐03 Grade Level; $15.24/hr ‐ $19.82/hr: Completion of 30 credit hours above high school level by May 2024 (6 credit hours in any combination of the following fields: engineering, industrial technology, construction, physics, physical science, or mathematics); 6 months of related technical work experience may be partially substituted for education
• GS‐04 Grade Level; $17.11/hr ‐ $22.24/hr: Completion of 60 credit hours above high school level by May 2024; 6 months of related technical work experience may be partially substituted for education
• Note: Must be a U.S. Citizen; personal security/background investigation is required for all positions
