Title: Method Development & Validation of Pesticides Using LC-MS/MS & the Occurrence, Fate & Potential Ecotoxicity of Pesticide-Treated Seed Residues Resulting from Excessive Biofuels Production Waste Product Release

Abstract:
The study involves the development of a highly sensitive and multi-residue method for the determination of neonicotinoids, strobilurin fungicides, and their degradation products simultaneously in environmental matrices using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) with UniSpray™ ion source. The developed method was optimized and then applied to the quantification of neonicotinoids in water samples collected from two contaminated streams in Mead, Nebraska, USA. These streams received runoff from land-applied wet cake, and spilled wastewater generated from the AltEn biofuels plant, LLC.
