The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Colorado State University (CSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background and research interests in one or more of the following areas:
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation: Developing technologies and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance carbon sequestration, and increase resilience to climate impacts like extreme weather, sea-level rise, and changing precipitation patterns.
- Sustainable Water Resources Management: Addressing challenges related to water scarcity, water quality degradation, and sustainable water infrastructure through innovative treatment technologies, efficient irrigation practices, and integrated water resource management.
- Environmental Pollution Control and Remediation: Advancing technologies for monitoring, detecting, and mitigating pollution across air, water, soil, and waste management, including novel remediation techniques and pollution prevention strategies.
- Circular Economy and Resource Recovery: Exploring innovative waste management and resource recovery approaches to promote waste minimization, resource efficiency, and circular economy principles.
- Urban Sustainability and Resilience: Researching sustainable urban development strategies, including green infrastructure, urban planning, and smart city technologies to enhance environmental quality and urban resilience.

The application of advanced AI tools to any of these areas will be considered favorably.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Develop and maintain an internationally recognized, externally funded research program.
2. Provide intellectual leadership and excellence in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses relevant to civil and environmental engineering.
3. Pursue scholarly activities, serve the academic community, and contribute to CSU's engagement efforts, particularly in interdisciplinary research areas that complement and expand current departmental strengths.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related field by the start date. Candidates will be evaluated based on their alignment with the focus areas listed in the position summary, record of excellence for scholarly activities, vision for funded research program, record of excellence and vision for teaching, and commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and broadening participation.

Salary and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $105,000 for a nine-month appointment, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
