The University of Maryland’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Structural Engineering.

University of Maryland’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking applicants with expertise in one or more of the following focus areas:

-Conventional and advanced structural materials, including reinforced concrete structures, FRP composites, as well as high-performance, adaptive, self-healing, and hybrid materials;
-Constitutive models for evolving concrete and reinforcement materials;
-Sustainable materials, structures, and engineering practices applied to concrete;
-Additive manufacturing for civil infrastructure using concrete, reinforced concrete, or composites
-Evaluation and repair of deteriorated infrastructure

Exceptional candidates in other structure-related areas are also encouraged to apply. Demonstrated experimental research experience, including large-scale testing, is desirable.

The successful candidate will teach structures-related courses as part of the appointment. Candidate should be committed to high-quality teaching for a diverse student body. Ideal applicants will also have experience and/or demonstrated interest in community engagement, equity, and/or social justice in their research and/or teaching. The successful candidate is also expected to actively participate in service, both within the university and externally.

Minimum Qualifications:
All applicants should have received or expect to receive their Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related areas prior to their employment.
