The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position to begin Fall 2025. The appointment is at the “Instructional Assistant/Associate Professor” rank and in the areas of structural and geotechnical engineering.

Qualifications:
The ideal applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate the ability to function in a collaborative atmosphere with multiple stakeholders. Candidates must possess a solid commitment to engineering education and should demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Position Requirements:
1. Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.
2. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in a US State or Territory.
3. Proven ability to teach core undergraduate courses, including Statics, Mechanics of Solids, Structural Analysis, and Geotechnical Engineering, along with experience in conducting laboratory sessions.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
1. Practical experience in the Civil Engineering industry.
2. Ability to teach courses in Foundation Engineering and Transportation Engineering.
