Faculty reviewers needed for Graduate Travel Awards Program

From Karen Da Silva, ASUN President:

Looking for a quick and easy way to serve the UNL community (and spread some holiday cheer)? The Graduate Travel Awards Program (GTAP) committee is currently seeking faculty reviewers for student applications during the Spring 2018 award cycle. GTAP awards free travel grants to students presenting at academic conferences; faculty reviewers are a vital part of the GTAP program, and we can’t function without them. (Click here for more info on GTAP.)

Each faculty reviewer is responsible to read between 7 and 9 short applications, then rate them according to a simple rubric. Applications would be assigned to you Nov. 30, and you would have until Dec. 14 to review them. In total, the time commitment is approximately 2 to 3 hours, spread out over two weeks.

If you are willing and able to help, we would very much appreciate your assistance! Please email gtap@unl.edu and let us know how many applications you would be willing to review.

Thank you, and we look forward to working with you.

Heather Voorhees and Sabrina Brown
2017-18 GTAP Co-Chairs

p.s. Last semester alone, we were able to award more than $4,000 in free travel grants to UNL students, thanks to the support of our amazing student and faculty reviewers. Please help us keep this amazing program thriving!
