The College of Engineering offers a Graduate Student Teaching Fellows program to engineering students through the Engineering and Computing Education Core. This is a competitive, year-long program for students who are currently teaching or will be teaching at the postsecondary level. The program provides graduate students the opportunity to work closely with peers and faculty mentors, while taking a course that focuses on teaching. Participants will earn a completion certificate (non-degree) and associate level certification through the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) program through the Office of Graduate Studies. Civil Engineering students comprise over one quarter of this year’s fellows. The civil engineering students selected as Graduate Student Teaching Fellows are: Al-Faliti, Mitham, MS student specializing in environmental; Delon, Thompson, PhD student specializing in water resources engineering; Fang, Chen, PhD student specializing in structural engineering; Liu, Chuyang, PhD student specializing in water resources engineering; Naderi Beni, Nasrin, PhD student specializing in environmental engineering; and Ribero Furtado De Mendonca, Flavia, PhD student specializing in geotechnical/materials engineering
