Winter parking rules may impact city streets

It’s November in Nebraska and we know the future forecast: snow and winter storms.

Specific parking rules take effect for City of Lincoln streets on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus during winter weather conditions. The rules apply to streets maintained by the city and violators can receive tickets or, sometimes, vehicles may be towed.
• Based on conditions, the city can declare a snow emergency and ban parking on emergency snow routes, arterial streets and city bus routes.
• Parking restrictions can take effect for streets in snow removal districts.
• Additional rules apply to residential streets.

City Streets
Streets adjacent to City, East and Innovation campuses are City of Lincoln streets.
• For City Campus, this includes 14th Street, 16th Street, 17th Street, Vine Street, W Street and Stadium Drive.
• On East Campus, streets within campus boundaries are maintained by the university. City streets border the campus.

The city offers email alerts and Twitter access to winter street and parking information. Sign up at http://bit.ly/2AQ18hm.

The on-call van service is easy to use:

• Enter the van upon arrival and repeat your destination request.
The vans deliver riders to requested bus stops.
