No increase in cost of new parking permits

For the fourth consecutive year, University of Nebraska–Lincoln parking permit rates will remain unchanged as sales for the 2018-19 year begin April 16. Full year permits must be displayed July 1.

“We are happy to keep permit costs at the same levels,” said Dan Carpenter, director of Parking and Transit Services. “Efforts to control parking expenses and maximize other revenue options have been successful.”

Online sales
Online sales begin April 16.

• Complete permit purchase at https://parking.unl.edu/faculty-parking-permit-purchase-guide
o Reminder: Verify and update vehicle and license information during purchase process.
• Annual permits ordered online will mail in June. Nine-month permits mail in August.

In person sales
In person permit sales begin June 1 for faculty and staff.
• Permits will be available at the Parking and Transit Services office, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A.
• For in person purchase, complete, print and bring the Printable Application Form available at http://parking.unl.edu/documents/Parking-Permit-Application-Form.pdf.

Display new permits
Annual permits must be displayed beginning July 1.
Nine-month permits must be displayed beginning Aug. 13.

New bus passes will be available

New StarTran bus passes will be available at no cost to faculty and staff who purchase campus parking permits.

The bus passes can also be purchased at https://unlpts.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal.

New mobile bus pass app option
A new mobile bus pass app will be introduced next year.
• Download personalized bus access to a mobile phone.
• Display phone to a scanner on the bus for ride access.
Faculty and staff who purchase a campus parking permit will receive a standard paper pass. Steps to convert to a mobile pass will be provided with the paper pass.
