Campus activities affect traffic, parking

Student housing move out
Students moving out of university housing during the week of April 30 to May 5 will affect traffic and access to parking stalls on campus. Meters near residence halls will be hooded and unavailable for use. Signs designating parking restrictions will be posted in areas near campus residence halls.

Commencement
Nebraska commencement exercises are May 4-5 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Parking restrictions and traffic flow in the Haymarket and around City Campus may be adjusted to accommodate visitors and related events.

Lincoln Marathon
The Lincoln Marathon is May 6. City Campus is a key area for the race and related events. The marathon route includes sections of City Campus, including start and finish lines.

Important details about how the marathon will affect campus include:

• On May 4, the north half of the South Memorial Stadium parking lot will close at 5 p.m. for event organizers to install large tents.

• On May 5, 14th Street will close north of Vine Street.

• At 5 a.m. May 6, parking will also close near the Champions Club, Stadium Garage, 501 Building and South Stadium.

• On race day, May 6, parking restrictions, heavy traffic, fans and runners will be ongoing factors on and around City Campus.

Parking permit refunds are available

Faculty and staff who have a parking permit and no longer plan to park on campus can receive a prorated refund or cancel remaining payments. The amount equals the cost difference between the date of cancellation and the last effective date for the permit.

To cancel a parking permit:

- Return the actual permit sticker or garage hangtag to Parking and Transit Services, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A.

- Refunds or canceled future payments will be processed.

- If applicable, return any bus pass issued with the parking permit.
