Parking and Transit Services is ready to help
Parking and Transit Services is available to help faculty and staff efficiently navigate their way onto and across University of Nebraska–Lincoln campuses.

Display current parking permits
Each vehicle parked in designated campus area must display a valid parking permit. Permit costs have not increased for academic year 2018-2019. This is the fourth consecutive year that parking permit prices remain unchanged.
Parking permit options are detailed at http://parking.unl.edu/parking.
Permits can be purchased online at https://parking.unl.edu/faculty-parking-permit-purchase-guide or in person at the Parking and Transit Services office, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A.
For an in-person purchase, complete and bring along the application form available at http://parking.unl.edu/documents/Parking-Permit-Application-Form.pdf.
Regular bus schedules return
With the beginning of the new academic year, StarTran bus service continues to connect university campuses. All routes run on regular schedules Monday through Friday.
Complete schedules, routes and bus stop sites are available at http://parking.unl.edu/campus-bus-service.
Check real time bus locations or download mobile apps to track buses and arrival times at http://parking.unl.edu/bus-maps#online-map.
Elevator ads provide new revenue source
Promotional signs now appear on elevator doors in City Campus garages. Fees for this signage are assigned to Parking and Transit Services general operations.
“We are pleased to take advantage of the opportunity to secure nontraditional sources of revenue,” said Dan Carpenter, director of Parking and Transit Services. “These doors represent a new promotional option. We are focused on making sure that any displays meet University standards for advertising.”
Parking and Transit Services is working with the Daily Nebraskan and University Communication to identify sponsors and appropriate content.
“The income from these signs will help offset operational expenses and maintain permit costs,” Carpenter said. “We will continue to consider appropriate additional revenue opportunities.”
Campus parking rules take effect football game days
Faculty and staff permit parking areas, including reserved, non-reserved and garages are reassigned on home football game days.
Campus parking permit holders cannot park in standard assigned parking areas during game day preparation and activities. Parking areas close for these preparations at 10 p.m. the night before a home game. Violators can be towed.
Faculty and staff permits may park in these areas on game days:
- Surface lots at 16th and X streets (east side of 16th Street near the Boathouse) and 1700 Y St.
- Perimeter lot at 15th and Court streets
- Devaney Sports Center lots at 16th and Court streets.
Campus parking guidelines for football game days are detailed at http://parking.unl.edu/athletic-events-parking#football.
