Something you have learned as a W.H. Thompson Scholar: As a W.H. Thompson scholar, I’ve learned that giving is one of the greatest characteristics a person can encompass. I’ve been so grateful these past four years that I was fortunate enough to be chosen for this scholarship. If it weren’t for the Susan T. Buffet Foundation, I wouldn’t be pursuing my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. Thanks to the extremely generous and giving Buffet family, I am able to turn my dream into a reality. I have taken their generosity as an influence on my life, and hope in the future to make a difference in someone’s life the way the Buffet family has made a difference in mine.

Something you love most about being a W.H. Thompson Scholar: The thing I love most about being a W.H. Thompson scholar is the endless amount of support I’ve had from the community. Everyone who is involved in this community has one goal, which is to help and see others be successful. I am so grateful to have received the great amount of support and encouragement from everyone in this community.

Something you are looking forward to this year as a W.H. Thompson Scholar: One thing I’m looking forward to as a W.H. Thompson scholar is seeing others grow and develop as much as I have from this community. I also look forward to seeing where the countless amounts of friendships go that I’ve made in this community, while also meeting new friends along the way.
