My name is Taylor Nicole Lofdahl.
Hometown: I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and I attended Skutt Catholic for high school. Omaha holds a special place in my heart because the majority of my family lives there, and I have spent many years of my life exploring the city and all it has to offer.
Major: I have yet to declare a major, but I have considered education and psychology. I do know that I would like to minor in Spanish at some point in my college career. I've always dreamed of being fluent in another language.
Favorite Food: I could talk endlessly about food. In all honesty, there really isn't a food I don't like, but if I have to choose one, I would say that my favorite type of food is Mediterranean. I absolutely adore a good Greek salad with hummus and pita bread. Sushi comes in as a close second on my list of favorite foods.
Random Fact about Myself: I'm the oldest child in my family, and I have three younger siblings. I adore my little brother and sisters, and I thoroughly enjoy being a big sister.
Something I have learned as a W.H.Thompson Scholar: As a W.H.Thompson Scholar, I have learned the importance of being organized and planning ahead. There are quite a few requirements and important deadlines to remember for the program, and in turn, I have decided to befriend my planner.
Something I love most about being a W.H.Thompson Scholar: I am very grateful for the small class sizes and additional resources that are provided through the William H.Thompson program. Transitioning into the college lifestyle can be very overwhelming, and it certainly helps to be a part of a smaller community of people that you see in class, at meetings, and it study groups.
Something I am looking forward to this year as a W.H.Thompson Scholar: I'm looking forward to the group events with my peer mentor group. We have already discussed a few options for places to meet, and they all involve food or ice cream. Beyond the consumption of delicious foods, I am also looking forward to these events because I'm excited to get to know my group members better. They're all very cool people, and I look forward to spending time with them.
Where I see myself in 10 years: In 10 years, I envision myself traveling the world. I am a firm believer that traveling and all the experiences associated with it teach you certain life lessons that will never be found in a textbook or taught in a classroom. Traveling provides you with an opportunity to learn about new cultures, meet new people, and ultimately see the world with an entirely new perspective. Some of the countries I would like to visit are India, Italy, Germany, and Australia.
