Major: Diversified Agriculture

Year in school: I am a freshman.

Favorite Food: I like anything Italian!

Random fact about yourself: I qualified for state track in the 3200 meter run three years in a row. The second year I medaled eighth place and the third year I medaled fifth. I also hold the Cody-Kilgore High School 3200 meter record with a time of 12:20.

Something you have learned as a William H. Thompson Scholar: I have learned so much from William H. Thompson Scholars Learning Community. Whether it was from an event, a class, or meeting with my mentor, I have learned how to adapt to college. Making UNL my home was definitely a challenge since I came from such a small town.

Something you love most about being a William H. Thompson Scholar: The thing I love most about being a William H. Thompson Scholars Learning Community is the support group. Living in Harper with all the other scholars allowed me to easily get to know so many people. I also love having a mentor and point of contact. Alyssa and Amy are always there to help me out whenever I need it.

Something you are looking forward to this year as a William H. Thompson Scholar: I am looking forward to getting more involved with this community. I am also so excited to possibly mentoring next year!

What are your summer plans? This summer I plan to work as a CNA at the Cherry County Hospital. Since I live on a ranch I am automatically my dad’s hired hand too. I also want to get my certificate in coaching so I can help out with summer sports camps.

Where you see yourself in 10 years? I am not sure what job I want with my degree but I do know in 10 years I want to be back in the heart of the Sandhills. I loved every second of growing up there and someday I want to raise my kids there.
