Sehi earns ESP Mid-Career Leadership Award

Natalie Sehi, extension educator in Nutrition and Health Sciences, has received an Epsilon Sigma Phi Mid-Career Leadership Award. The award honors Nebraska Extension professional who exhibit and model excellence in leadership in the following areas:

• Career-level appropriate evidence of leadership in units/departments/teams/groups over a timeline over successive years
• Evidence of supporting colleagues in the form of mentoring, coaching and troubleshooting without reward or recognition
• Evidence of connecting teams together and collaboration of people and resources for innovative programs, outreach and applied research
• Evidence of maintaining and expanding current basic programming at local unit/regional/statewide levels
• Philosophy and proof of work/family/community balance while meeting professional goals
• Evidence of ethical leadership and personal integrity
• The nominee’s establishment of healthy and productive work/family/community balance while meeting professional goals

The award program at the conference she received the award praised Sehi’s “13+ years in Extension where she has led a variety of groups, teams and organizations and has proven to be a leader in any project that she has been involved in. Her incredible work ethic and drive for excellence results in quality work in every single project that she takes on. Recent projects include Community Nutrition Partnership Council, School Wellness, Healthy Lifestyles for Children and Youth (Issue Team 2) and 4-H Food Smart Families. With these projects, Natalie has built strong partnerships between Nebraska Extension, the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences and the Nutrition Education Program.”
