Have you ever thought about developing an online store, dynamic websites or interactive web applications? This course will help you to design and develop end-to-end web-based applications while mastering the foundational concepts, including web based programming methodologies, languages, tools and standards. This course is designed to familiarize participants with technologies and protocols that support computer communication networks, including the Internet. It will help using MVC framework to design database driven applications. It will emphasize on the security issues in web applications and their solutions. A decent background in java and database is good enough to embark on this exciting journey into the omnipresent world of web applications.

Topics include:

-Client-Server architecture
-Http and Https protocols
-Design principles for web-based applications
-Design and development of Java Servlets and JSP
-Design using MVC framework
-AJAX & jQuery
-XML and Web Service
-Principles of information security in web-based applications

It is tentatively scheduled for MWF 9:30 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. and will be taught by a new CSE hire, Mohammad Hasan.
