Combine your passion for committing print and digital journalism with your enthusiasm for arts and culture all while helping other young aspiring journalists cultivate skills of their own. As associate editor of Rabble Magazine, you’ll wear multiple hats and shape the course of our youth-produced, youth-read magazine covering skateboarding, music, fashion, culinary arts and current events.
Budget, write for, edit, design and distribute the mag as part of our motivated and creative young team team, all from our Collective digital art space. This is a paid position; junior and senior journalism majors with some editing experience preferred.
Duties include:
- As editor, oversee all aspects of magazine production
- Facilitate development of editorial budget and manage stories to print-ready production
- Critique, comprehensively edit and copy edit stories
- Oversee design, pitching in on layout and final edits
- Upload stories to Rabble Magazine’s website and partner with social team to promote
- Recruit new students to join magazine using established connections
- Document and update production process using existing templates
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Suite required
The position starts Tuesday, Sept. 4 and ends Friday, Dec. 14.
