Apply to be an Undergraduate Research Ambassador

The Office of Academic Affairs is seeking students who have participated in undergraduate research experiences to serve as undergraduate research ambassadors for the 2014-2015 academic year. Ambassadors represent the Office of Academic Affairs at various functions and events including on-campus recruiting days, Fall Semester check, student receptions, and first-year seminars.

Ambassadors give short (10-20 minute) presentations to prospective students, current students, UNL faculty and staff, and other distinguished visitors (ex. Board of Regents) about their undergraduate research experiences. Ambassadors are expected to participate in at least three events per semester. Students will NOT be asked to miss class to participate.

As an Undergraduate Research Ambassador, you will receive:
- An undergraduate research polo shirt
-Opportunities to network with UNL faculty, staff, and students
- Public speaking experience

Any undergraduate researcher may apply. We are looking for 10-12 applicants with strong communication skills and enthusiasm about the power of undergraduate research. In addition, we seek a diversity of majors including the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. Final selections will be made by the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Graduate Studies.
