Campus Rec Center hosts '#ActiveHusker Combine' competition Feb. 29

UNL Campus Rec will host the #ActiveHusker Combine 11 a.m–1:30 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Feb. 29 in Cook Pavilion. The #ActiveHusker Combine is an event mirroring the annual NFL Combine that tests college football players' abilities to perform physically and mentally in front of NFL coaches and scouts. Participation is free to all UNL students, Campus Rec members and General Public. General Public must also pay a $10 facility fee to compete.

The #ActiveHusker Combine is held the Monday following this year's week-long NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Events include the short shuttle, vertical jump, standing broad jump, bench press, 3-cone drill and 40-yard dash. Men and women are welcome. Top female and male competitors in each event receive a prize and overall top competitors receive a trophy.

Participants do not need to sign up in advance or compete in each event. However, competitors must complete all six events to be considered for overall champion. Competitors may begin any time during the event, but must complete their chosen events by 8 p.m.
