Amicitia Duo

Formed out of friendship, the Amicitia Duo brings music for clarinet to a wide variety of audiences featuring clarinetists from the Glenn Korff School of Music Diane Barger and Denise Gainey from the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Sunday, September 10 at 3:00 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.

Amicitia is the Latin word for friendship and is pronounced “ah-mee-KEE-tee-ah”. With a friendship that spans over thirty years, Barger and Gainey combine their love of music and teaching to delight audiences around the world. Joined by University of Nebraska–Lincoln pianist Mark Clinton, this recital features music created out of commissions, dedications, and premieres by composers Alexis Ciesla, Gerald Cohen, István Kohán, Scott McAllister, Felix Mendelssohn, and William Price.
