Jamie Reimer’s recital program on September 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Kimball Recital Hall includes three American premieres of pieces written by Robert Owens in the last years of his life. The program is also scheduled between what would have been his 93rd birthday (9/19) and the tenth anniversary of Reimer and Owens first performance together (9/17), which was given on the Kimball Hall stage. She will be joined by Stacie Haneline, collaborative pianist as well as the Glenn Korff School of Music’s Clark Potter and Karen Becker.

With a particular interest in contemporary American art song, Reimer’s research focuses on the life and work of composer Robert Owens. In 2012, she gave the world premiere of Owens’ 4 Sonnets to Eleonora Duse, composed for her voice, and performed the role of Ursula in the North American premiere of his opera Culture! Culture! in 2015.

The event is free and open to the public. This performance will also be live webcast and available at music.unl.edu the night of the event.
