General Stanley McChrystal will give a free and public presentation at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 15 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. McChrystal is a four-star general, the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan, and the former leader of Joint Special Operations Command, which oversees the most sensitive counter-terrorism units.

Gen. McChrystal's presentation is offered as part of the College of Engineering's "Building the 22nd Century" Conference (Oct. 14-16, 2013). He will present field-tested leadership lessons, stressing a uniquely inclusive model that focuses on building teams capable of relentlessly pursuing results.

Gen. McChrystal retired from the military in 2010. He is the author of the best-selling leadership book, "My Share of the Task: A Memoir." He is also a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.
