Paul Taylor, founder of Arborwear, an outdoor apparel company, will visit the School of Natural Resources on March 19.

"Paul is one of those unique individuals who was headed in a career utilizing technical skills like many of our students," said John Carroll, SNR director. "When he looked at what was available in his profession for clothing needs, he saw a niche and pursued it. This entrepreneurial spirit is one that our students can benefit from in using their knowledge and ways of thinking to create their own businesses."

Throughout his lifetime, Taylor has continued to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape by building on the experience gained from one business venture and refining it in the next. His latest venture is Long Splice Design, an apparel development and sourcing company. Long Splice Design took root from the experience he gained after founding Arborwear, which he headed for twelve years.

"I hope our SNR team learns that there are many paths in natural resources and sometimes those paths that seem a bit risky or out of the ordinary can actually be the most rewarding," Carroll said.
