Name: Timothy Lambert

Major: Fisheries and Wildlife
Anticipated date of graduation: May 2017

Why did you decide to come to University of Nebraska-Lincoln?
I was recruited to wrestle for the University of Nebraska and enjoyed my visit. I wanted to a part of the tough and tight-knit team.
What is your favorite thing about the university?
I enjoy the people the most; the coffee shops are pretty great, too, though. The School of Natural Resources is built on close relationships and many of my professors are willing to connect and go out of their way to help students gain knowledge and experience in and outside of the classroom.

What is your favorite class and why?
NRES 463: Fisheries Science with Dr. Mark Pegg is my favorite class. He is a great professor, and his lab allows us to help Nebraska Game and Parks Commission with sampling efforts and make our own management plan of the reservoir with real data. This real-life experience and networking is a huge advantage in career path outlooks and learning what you are passionate about.

What are your plans following graduation?
After finishing my last year as a student-athlete and graduating, I’d like to gain as much job experience as I can working in a fisheries or related field and hopefully go on many adventures with my wife along the way.

What is life like outside of school?
I love spending time with my family when I can, and enjoy visiting Michigan to see my niece and nephews. Wrestling is a large investment of time, but when I can, I love to fly-fish and connect with friends. A new joy and passion of mine, though, is planning fun trips with my wife over coffee at our favorite coffee shops in Lincoln.
