Ted Kooser’s poem “Pearl” has inspired a short film by Dan Butler. The film, available at http://go.unl.edu/pearl, has been showing at film festivals.
In the poem, Kooser tells the story of a person whose mother has died and must travel to Elkander, Iowa to tell a cousin about the death.
Kooser is professor of English and served as U.S. Poet Laureate.
