Justice task force plans meetings The Minority and Justice Implementation Committee, formed by the Minority and Justice Task Force, will conduct town hall meetings this fall to inform the public about the task force's findings. The Minority and Justice Task Force was formed by the University of Nebraska Policy Center, the Nebraska Supreme Court and the Nebraska State Bar Association to determine if there is actual or perceived racial/ethnic bias or discrimination in the state justice system. The Minority and Justice Implementation committee will conduct a meeting from 6:30-8:30pm this evening at the Malone Center. More meetings will be held in November and December across the state. As part of a three-year investigation of Nebraska's justice system, the Minority and Justice Task Force sought testimony from Nebraskans, which identified problems such as a lack of quality interpreters and perceived sentencing disparities. The town hall meetings this fall will allow the committee to report back to communities involved in the 2002 public hearings. Spanish translators will be at each town hall meeting. For information about the Implementation Committee or dates and locations of other town hall meetings, call Linda Crump at 472-3417. •• 208 OLDFATHER, 4PM Mathematics Colloquium - 'Sampled-Data Boundary Stabilization of a Beam Equation' Richard Rebarber, UNL •• ARCH HALL GALLERY, 4:30PM Hyde Lecture Series - 'Cultural Architecture' Jorge Lobos, architect, Chile •• The University Health Center will be holding a flu shot clinic at east campus today.
