Moonlight And Magnolias
HOWELL THEATRE, TEMPLE BUILDING, STARTING JULY 11
Repertory Theatre Presents Moonlight And Magnolias

Opening July 11 in Howell Theatre is Moonlight And Magnolias, a farce about the creation of the film Gone With The Wind by Ron Hutchinson. Famed movie producer David O. Selznick (played by Kevin Paul Hofeditz, Dallas, TX) has shut down the filming of Gone With The Wind. He's fired the director and dumped the screenplay. Losing fifty 'grand' a day, he quickly hijacks Victor Fleming (played by Richard Marlatt, Chicago, IL) right off The Wizard Of Oz set and grabs successful screen writer Ben Hecht (played by Alan Ball, Chicago, IL) to try to save his big-budget epic. With the trio locked in his office for five days with nothing to eat but "brain food," bananas and peanuts, we watch the re-imagined birth of one of the most beloved movies of all time. The cast also includes Leta Powell Drake of Lincoln as Miss Poppenghul, Selznick's secretary

Dan Yurgaitis from Aberdeen, South Dakota, directs the production. The production is designed by Steve Shelley from New York City (lighting), Ahna Packard from Vermillion, South Dakota (scenic), Janice Stauffer from UNL (costumes), and Jeff O’Brien of Lincoln (sound). Performances are July 11, 12, 13, 24, 28 and August 2, 3 at 7:30 p.m. and July 22 at 2:00 p.m.

Season passes are $50, $45 faculty/staff and senior citizens, $30 student/youth. Each season pass allows the pass-holder unlimited attendance to all three NRT 2007 productions, one free admission to each Destinations performance, and one free admission to the special screening of the film Gone with the Wind. Individual performance tickets are $20, $18 faculty/staff and senior citizen, and $10 student/youth.

A swirling, impressionistic portrait of an artist who regretted nothing, writer-director Olivier Dahan's La Vie en Rose stars 2005 Cesar Award-winner Marion Cotillard (A Very Long Engagement, A Good Year) in a blazing performance as the legendary French icon Edith Piaf. From the mean streets of the Belleville district of Paris to the dazzling limelight of New York's most famous concert halls, Piaf's life was a constant battle to sing and survive, to live and love. Born into abject poverty, surrounded by street performers, hookers, and pimps, Piaf's magical voice made her a star on both sides of the Atlantic.

In Severance, a team-building holiday goes takes a change for the worse in the mountains of Europe. Seven employees of the international weapons manufacturer Palisade Defense (global suppliers of innovative weaponry for the past 75 war-torn years) are being treated to a retreat weekend at the company's newly built luxury spa lodge by their president, George Cinders. But things quickly go awry as the colleagues find themselves faced with the chop when their corporate weekend is sabotaged by a deadly enemy. Forget office politics, only the smartest will survive this bloody office outing.
