14th Street from Q to R Closed Beginning Wednesday
14th Street from Q to R streets will be closed Wednesday, June 4 through June 27. This is part of the ongoing water line replacement project. The intersection of 13th and R streets will also be closed from June 11 to June 27. The intersection of 12th and R streets and 12th from Q to R streets are scheduled to reopen June 6.

'Fountain Frolics' to again feature live music, picnic lunches
"Fountain Frolics" will again be a Thursday lunchtime feature this summer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Free, live music will be presented on the Nebraska Union Plaza Arcade, 15th and S streets, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday from June 5 through July 31 (except July 3). A picnic lunch of a hot dog, chips and a Pepsi product will be available for $4.
This week features Broad Appeal, an acapella group who performs famous songs from the 'Hit Parade' era- 1935-1959. "Fountain Frolics" is presented by the University Program Council.

UNL Trumpeter Darryl White Inaugurates Sheldon's 17th Jazz in June Season
Now in its 17th season, the Jazz in June concert series promises great jazz and great food in the great outdoors on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus this summer.
Organized by the Sheldon Art Association, this year's free jazz series kicks off on June 3 with the UNL School of Music's accomplished jazz trumpeter, Darryl White. The concerts, which begin at 7 p.m. and draw thousands of music and art lovers each week, are held under the trees on the plaza west of Sheldon Museum of Art, 12th and R streets. more...

Paranoid Park and Then She Found Me Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Paranoid Park and Then She Found Me. Both films will show through June 5.
In Paranoid Park, an unsolved murder at Portland's infamous park of the title's namesake brings detectives to a local high school, propelling a young skater into a moral odyssey where he must not only deal with the pain and disconnect of adolescence but the consequences of his own actions. As director of My Own Private Idaho, Good Will Hunting, To Die For and elephant, Gus Van Sant has created some of the most memorable films about youth ever committed to film.
Adapted from Elinor Lipman's novel of the same name, Helen Hunt makes her feature directing debut with Then She Found Me, a touching story of schoolteacher April Epner (Hunt) and her very unlikely path towards personal fulfillment. Following the separation from her husband (Matthew Broderick) and the death of her adopted mother, April is contacted by her apparent birth mother (Bette Midler), who turns out to be a local talk show host Bernice Graves. As Bernice tries to become the mother to April that she was never able to be, April seems to find solace in the arms of the parent of one of her students (Colin Firth), only to find that the mystery to life’s questions cannot be solved by a simple revelation.
