UNL Earns $8.1 Million NSF Grant for Nanotechnology Research Center

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln received an $8.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to support the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and its nanotechnology research through 2014.

The celebration was Sept. 19 on the Nebraska Union Plaza. The new multicultural center is a stated priority of the chancellor as an important step in securing and expanding the progress we have made in our diversity efforts as a campus. more...

UNL Bullying Research Featured in New Online Resource

University of Nebraska-Lincoln research on bullying is featured in a new online resource for parents at Education.com, co-sponsored by the American Association of School Administrators. Guest editors for the special online edition at Education.com are Shelley Hymel and Susan Swearer, co-directors of the Bullying Research Network headquartered at UNL. The Education.com special edition Web site is http://www.education.com/topic/school-bullying-teasing.

Celebration events included a keynote address by Richard Sincovec, a tour of the facilities, talks by other speakers, a formal dedication of the new Schorr Center for Computer Science and Engineering, and a pre-game party before the Nebraska-Virginia Tech football game on Saturday. more...
