Kaneko's 'Play's the Thing' Continues at Sheldon
"Play's the Thing: The Paintings and Objects of Jun Kaneko," an exhibition of ceramic artworks, paintings and works on paper, continues at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Sheldon Museum of Art through October 11.
Several of the artist's large ceramic pieces are displayed in Sheldon's Great Hall, while his paintings, works on paper, and other sculptures fill three second-floor galleries. more...
Nebraska State Museum Hosts Photo Contest
The Nebraska State Museum is currently holding a photo contest for amateur photographers who are Nebraska residents age 18 or older. They are looking for striking images of animal behavior, portraits of wildlife in natural habitat, plant life, natural landscapes, or people interacting with nature.
Entries will be accepted through September 30, and will be on exhibit in Morrill Hall November 2, 2009 through February 28, 2010. For contest categories and rules, visit the wildlife and nature photo contest page.
