Sunday With A Scientist
'Sunday Scientist' Program to Explore State's Water Resources

The University of Nebraska State Museum will present a program about Nebraska's water resources as part of its "Sunday with a Scientist" series 1:30-4:30 p.m. March 21 at Morrill Hall.

"Nebraska's Greatest Treasure" will be led by water education and outreach specialist Rachael Herpel of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Water Center, NU Rural Initiative, and UNL Extension, and program manager Jamie Oltman of The Groundwater Foundation. The program will examine the science behind various issues related to our state's abundant water resources, including groundwater, surface water, drought and water conservation. Morrill Hall is south of 14th and Vine streets. Museum hours are 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sundays. more....

Nobody's Perfect
Fun Family Show 'Nobody's Perfect' Performed in ASL, English at Lied

A leader in bringing imaginative and original works to the nation, the highly acclaimed Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences will bring its new breakout hit musical, "Nobody's Perfect," to the Lied Center for Performing Arts at 7 p.m. March 19.

Tickets for this performance are $14. University of Nebraska-Lincoln students with a valid ID, as well as youth age 18 or younger, may purchase tickets for half price. Call the Lied Ticket Office at (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for ticket availability. Regular ticket office hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Academic Planning Committee Budget Hearing is April 9

The APC hearing on proposed budget reductions will be held on April 9 in the Nebraska East Union. The task of the APC is to review the Chancellor's proposed cuts in light of their probable impact on the university's academic mission and approve them or suggest other ways of meeting the budget reduction goal. To accomplish this task, the APC welcomes information from all who may be affected by the proposed reductions.

Yo Yo Ma
Yo-Yo Ma to Perform at Lied Center for Performing Arts

The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln presents the performance of internationally acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma in Lincoln on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 4 p.m. Ma remains one of the best-selling recording artists in the classical field. All of his recent albums have quickly entered the Billboard chart of classical best-sellers, remaining in the Top 15 for extended periods, often with as many as four titles simultaneously on the list.

Big Red Road Show
'Huskerwood' Theme of Big Red Road Show at Mitchell

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will return to the Panhandle to host the "Big Red Road Show" at the Mitchell Event Center 1 to 4 p.m. (MDT) March 20. The theme for the event is "Huskerwood," spotlighting 50 interactive exhibits with displays of star-studded alumni and A-list career possibilities. The public will also have the opportunity to meet Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch and other Husker legends. Admission is free.

The Big Red Road Show is designed to help high school seniors make their final decisions about college and high school juniors and sophomores to begin their college search. Students of all ages and adults can attend to experience a glimpse of college life at UNL. Representatives from all UNL undergraduate colleges, and student affairs offices such as Scholarships and Financial Aid, Career Services, and Admissions will be on hand. more....

La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet, The Last Station Play at the Ross

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet and the Oscar-nominated (Christopher Plummer - Actor in a Supporting Role, Helen Mirren - Actress in a Leading Role) The Last Station. Both films will show through March 25.
