Workshop: "Finding a Major That Fits"

A workshop to help students find a major that fits for them will be presented 4-5 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.

"Finding a Major That Fits" will introduce students to the career exploration process, including self-assessment and researching majors and careers. General Studies and Career Services have teamed up for the program and will demonstrate tools available to students to help them through their own exploration.

 

'Love Your Body Day' is Today
Love Your Body

'Love Your Body Day' will take place Oct. 20 and is a daylong celebration dedicated to encouraging positive body image. Students for Sexual Health and the Chancellor's Committee on Wellness will distribute cards with messages designed to boost one's self-esteem.

Faculty, staff and students can also visit the Wellness booth in the Nebraska Union all day for tips on promoting positive body image.

Fulbright
UNL to Host Fulbright Scholars' Food Security Seminar

UNL will host 77 Fulbright scholars from nearly 50 countries this week during a four-day meeting that will focus on food security around the world.

The Global Food Security Seminar will gather students in agricultural and environmental sciences, biology and biomedical sciences, public health, economics and engineering. Set for Oct. 20-24 in Lincoln, the event will showcase people and groups working to advance sustainable, agriculture-led growth to increase availability of food for growing populations, make food affordable and increase incomes of the poor. more...

Walk-in Flu Shot Clinics To Be Held Throughout October
Flu shots

The University Health Center will hold flu shot clinics throughout the month. The influenza vaccine is good for both seasonal and H1N1 influenza. Flu shots will cost $25 with payment of cash or check required at the time of the shot.

The University Health Center will hold walk-in clinics every Wednesday and Thursday in October from noon-2 p.m. There will also be two walk-in clinics at the East Union on the third floor on Oct. 19 from noon-2 p.m. more...
