'Tribute to Ardis James' continues at Quilt Museum

The International Quilt Study Center and Museum presents the exhibition "A Tribute to Ardis James" through July 29. Quilts created by many of today's top studio quilt artists and donated in honor of James will be shown.

James, with her husband Robert, collected and donated the first 1,000 quilts that provided the impetus for the establishment of the International Quilt Study Center in 1997. Their vision and continuing generous support made possible the new museum building, which opened in 2008. Read more about this exhibit on Today@UNL.

Womens week

'Little Waves' exhibition opens Women's Week

A new art exhibition opening today explores what feminism means today. The exhibit, "Little Waves," is open through March 16 in the Nebraska Union Rotunda Gallery. A reception is 5 to 7 p.m., March 16. The exhibit is part of Women's Week 2012 activities at UNL. For more information on Women's Week events is available on the Student Involvement website.

The "Little Waves" exhibition was organized to be part of Women's Week activities at UNL. It is a multi-faceted exhibition of curated works, collected stories and photographs. Looking at the complex, and often conflated, state of feminist history, the exhibition seeks to create a space for modern feminist dialogue through the work of regional artists. Gallery attendants and volunteers will be available for conversation and questions throughout the exhibition. Read more about this exhibition in Today@UNL.
