Nebraska App

UNL launches Nebraska App

UNL has launched the Nebraska App, a suite of mobile applications that makes essential university resources available on mobile devices. Students can check grades, access course content and browse the course catalog. They can access the public directory and get in touch instantly, keep tabs on Husker sports, find places on the campus map, stay informed with the latest campus news, watch videos, and even listen to podcasts of popular lectures in iTunesU.

"UNL is moving services to the where the students are in terms of devices and network access"," said Mark Askren, Chief Information Officer. "Students now have a much more powerful connection to UNL via their mobile device." Read more about Nebraska App in Today@UNL.

DiMagno, a fluorine chemist who began researching this area in 2005, is Ground Fluor Pharmaceuticals' co-founder. Read more about this technology in Today@UNL.

Landscape Services

Landscape Services recycles Antelope Valley trees

More than 25 trees endangered by construction on Lincoln's Antelope Valley project have found new homes at UNL.

The trees were scheduled to be removed to make way for Lincoln Electric System's Central Lincoln Reliability Project. Chico and Rita

'Chico and Rita,' 'The Fairy' play at the Ross

The Oscar-nominated animated ode to love and jazz, "Oscar and Rita," and the off-kilter adventure "The Fairy" play at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. Both films are unrated and play through April 12.

"Oscar and Rita" was a Best Animated Feature nominee for the 2012 Academy Award. The film features a passionate love story created by Oscar-winning director Fernando Trueba and Spain's most successful designer Javier Mariscal. In "Oscar and Rita," Trueba and Mariscal, close friends and collaborators for a number of years, celebrate their passion for the music and culture of Cuba.

"The Fairy" is a charming, off-kilter adventure about a hotel clerk who falls in love with a wish-granting fairy. The film was created by the Belgium-based trio of Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon and Bruno Romy. Read more about these films on the Ross website.
