UNL named to Military Friendly Schools list

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been named to 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools ®. The list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, university and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus. The complete list of 1,739 schools can be found online and includes a detailed listing about UNL including two student testimonials.

Now in its fourth year, the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools® was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 12,000 VA-approved schools nationwide. A full story and detailed list of 2013 Military Friendly Schools® will be highlighted in the annual G.I. Jobs Guide to Military Friendly Schools®, distributed in print and digital format to hundreds of thousands of active and former military personnel in early October. More information is available on the Online and Distance Education website.

Weiss, Kreimer exhibition at Tugboat through Sept. 28

"The Everyday Interests of Young People," a three-room installation by Wendy Weiss and Jay Kreimer, is on exhibition at Tugboat Gallery through Sept. 28. "The Everyday Interest of Young People" is about mixing, and watching, and at least three species of containment.

Weiss, a Professor of Textile Design in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design and Kreimer's "The Everyday Interests of Young People" plays with human spaces, interior and exterior, and the passage between the open and the enclosed. The contrasts and continuities in the three rooms charge each other and invoke qualities of the many spaces humans inhabit. Read more about this exhibit in Today@UNL.
