If you’re on social media sites today, you may see lots of activity surrounding #UNL24: a project to help the entire campus tell the collective story of 24 hours of life at UNL. The UNL community is sharing their stories through social media like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by including the hashtag #UNL24 in their posts and via email at unl24@unl.edu. It's Homecoming Week: Blood drive, Monday Night Live today
This year’s University of Nebraska-Lincoln Homecoming week begins Sept. 24 and will carry the theme “Once Upon a Homecoming” throughout the week.
The events begin with a blood drive, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 at Nebraska East Union. A Monday Night Live show is tonight with student teams dancing, acting and singing and showing school spirit. Performances are at the Coliseum beginning 8 p.m. Read more about homecoming week events in Today@UNL.

Binz talk on Energy for the 21st Century today

Energy Choices for the 21st Century is the topic for a presentation, 3-5 p.m. at Hardin Hall Auditorium.
The speaker, Ron Binz, is a 30-year veteran of utility and energy policy, and principal with Public Policy Consulting. The talk is conducted by State Senator Ken Haar and the UNL Department of Electrical Engineering. Read more about this talk in Today@UNL.

Delmar "Del" Lienemann Sr. at age 92 is Nebraska’s oldest active certified public accountant. Through the Lienemann Charitable Foundation he has established a $1 million permanently endowed chair to help ensure future generations receive an outstanding accounting education at UNL.
Lienemann credits his education at the UNL College of Business Administration for greatly enhancing his career in business, enabling him to be a successful CPA, real estate developer, retailer, investor and civic leader. In response, he established the Delmar A. Lienemann Sr. Chair in Accounting with a gift to the University of Nebraska Foundation. The chair will be awarded by the university to a faculty member in the School of Accountancy. Read more about Lienemann and this gift in Today@UNL.

Confucius Institute offers lunch workshops today, Sept. 26
The UNL Confucius Institute is offering a free, two-day lunch hour workshop designed to help people interact with Chinese students and scholars. The workshop, noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 24 and 26 in room 202 in the Multicultural Center, will be led by Pingan Huang, associate professor and associate director of the UNL Confucius Institute.
Huang will discuss methods to overcome language and cultural barriers. He will also review 20 common Chinese phrases/sentences used for greetings, introductions, expressing thanks and apologies, and saying goodbye. The workshop is free and open to all faculty, staff and students. Space is limited to 50.

UNL launches Nebraska App
UNL has launched the Nebraska App, a suite of mobile applications that makes essential university resources available on mobile devices. Students can check grades, access course content and browse the course catalog. They can access the public directory and get in touch instantly, keep tabs on Husker sports, find places on the campus map, stay informed with the latest campus news, watch videos, and even listen to podcasts of popular lectures in iTunesU.
"UNL is moving services to the where the students are in terms of devices and network access"," said Mark Askren, Chief Information Officer. "Students now have a much more powerful connection to UNL via their mobile device." Read more about Nebraska App in Today@UNL.
