Major gifts advance CBA building initiative; architects approved
Plans for a new state-of-the-art College of Business Administration building at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln have taken another step forward with major gift support and selection of project architects. The University of Nebraska Foundation has received gifts and commitments of gifts toward fundraising for the building, which is part of the Campaign for Nebraska, the university's current comprehensive fundraising initiative.
On March 15, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved Robert A.M. Stern Architects of New York and Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture of Nebraska as architects for the new building. Read more about the gifts and building in Today@UNL.

Grad programs represented in new U.S. News rankings
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln was represented in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of higher-education graduate schools and programs. The College of Law experienced a significant jump, climbing 28 spots from last year's rankings to No. 61.
"While we view these rankings with a healthy dose of skepticism, it is good news for the college," Law Dean Susan Poser said. "It is long overdue national recognition of the excellent academic program that we have always offered." Read more about these rankings in Today@UNL.

'West of Memphis', 'Stoker' open at the Ross
The documentary "West of Memphis", following the case of the West Memphis Three, and the thriller "Stoker" directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Nicole Kidman, open today at The Ross.
"West of Memphis" is rated R and plays through March 28. "Stoker" is rated R and plays through April 11. More information about both films is available at The Ross website.

UNL hosts international water officials
International authorities are discussing ways to increase food production and improve water management in the Middle East and North Africa during a visit to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this week. The Founders Committee of the Middle East and North Africa Network of Water Centers of Excellence have come to UNL for the discussions after meetings in Washington, D.C. UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman is one of seven members of the Founders Committee.
"The founding committee has quickly become a very collegial and thoughtful group, they are very open and passionate about improving the use of water resources on their region," Perlman said. "I am honored to be associated with this effort and to explore how the Water for Food Institute at the University can contribute to their success." Read more about this visit in Today@UNL.

University leaders moderate water discussions in Washington, D.C.
In honor of World Water Day on March 22, the University of Nebraska sent representatives to Washington, D.C., this week to lead water and food security discussions among industry experts and policy decision makers.
