State Fair Animal Entries Due Aug. 10

Animal exhibitors (4-H ages 10–18, FFA ages 10–21) are eligible to participate at the Nebraska State Fair regardless of county fair placing. 4-H/FFA youth or their families must submit their animal entries in ShoWorks online before Monday, Aug. 10, 8 p.m.

NOTE: You must have your State Fair entries completed and paid before 8 PM CST so please plan accordingly.

Reminders:
• 4-H livestock events will be held the first weekend Friday, Aug. 28–Sunday, Aug. 30 and FFA livestock events will be held on Friday, Sept. 4-Sunday, Sept. 6. You can review the 4-H schedule here: https://4h.unl.edu/state-fair-schedule

• We also want to remind you of the entry limits for each species: Beef (3-with at least one being a breeding heifer, no more than two market), Dairy Cattle (5), Swine (3), Sheep (4-with at least one breeding ewe, no more than three market), Goat (4-with at least one breeding doe, no more than three market), Rabbit (5), Poultry (5 and one dozen eggs)

• Your livestock nomination(s) that you completed in Show Stock Manager is not your entry for State Fair. A livestock nomination is the identification process for making an individual animal eligible for entry and showing evidence that the animal is part of the youth livestock project. When successfully completed online through Show Stock Manager, the nomination will be added to your account in the State Fair entry site when you go to complete your State Fair entries.

• In 2020, there will not be a gate fee or parking permit fee.

• In 2020, exhibitors can purchase a permit to have a Sheep/Goat Stand ($10) and/or Beef Blocking Chute ($25). Blocking chute permits will not be given out to Extension Staff or FFA Advisor for distribution. The permit will be valid for both weekends and you will pick this up in your exhibitor packet when you arrive. You will be required to have a permit to have a stand or chute.

• In 2020, exhibitors will be able to purchase extra pen or stall space. NOTE: Goats are stalled 4 per pen, sheep are stalled 3 per pen and hogs are stalled 2 per pen. If you are bringing yearlings, rams, etc. and need extra pen space, you will need to purchase it. Sheep/Goat/Swine Pens ($25), Beef Cattle ($35).
