Quilt Binding Open House
Sunday, April 25
1-5 p.m. - Sew as long as you can - arrive and go as needed.
Lancaster Extension Education Center
444 Cherrycreek Road, Lincoln
Open to advanced 4-H youth sewers or quilters, parents, family members, club leaders and friends.
Help with the final step of enclosing the binding on Lancaster County’s four Quilt of Valor Quilts. If you like detailed hand sewing work, please join us for two or more hours to help finish the hand sewing on these beautiful quilts for our Veterans. They will be on display at the Lancaster County Super Fair and the State Fair.
Email Kristin at kristin.geisert@unl.edu by Monday, April 19 if you are planning to attend and what hours during the afternoon you will be sewing.
The ladder hand stitch (similar to the blind stitch) will be used. This hand stitch will be taught but this event is NOT for beginner or young sewers - it will require a high level of concentration and fine motor dexterity along with sewing experience. 4-H'ers may use this time toward community service hours for school or their year-end 4-H Annual Achievement report.
Please wear face coverings and bring your sewing kit. No sewing machines needed. You will be distanced around the room while sewing
