Do you like insects, birds, wildlife, nature and/or parks? On Saturday, April 29, participate in the Lincoln City Nature Challenge event: CNC across LNK! Naturalist volunteers will be set up at 10 parks to help answer questions about the City Nature Challenge, iNaturalist and nature.
Extension Entomologist Kait Chapman will be at Oak Lake Park from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. to help visitors find insects or signs of wildlife, take pictures and submit their observations. This is a great opportunity for 4-H youth to find insects and take pictures for an insect macrophotography Super Fair exhibit, or look for wildlife for a wildlife-related exhibit.
For a list of the other local parks with Naturalist volunteers on April 29, see https://www.facebook.com/events/221879480494313.
The City Nature Challenge is a global weeklong event (April 28–May 1) to find, document and protect urban wildlife. iNaturalist is a website (https://www.inaturalist.org) and app anyone can record their observations of plants and animals.
