The 2024 Nebraska Make It With Wool contest will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 beginning at 9 a.m. in Lexington at Lexington Middle School, 1100 N. Washington Street. Open to youth and adults, participants model their creations in sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning and weaving of wool fabrics and yarns. There is also a “Made for Others” category. The fabrics/yarns used for the wool contest must be 100% wool or wool blend (minimum 60% wool or specialty wool fiber).
The state entry fee is $15, plus the national entry fee is $15. In addition, there is a $7 wool testing fee per each different fabric swatch and/or 36‑inch length of each yarn. Entry forms, wool samples, registration and wool testing fees are due by Oct. 15 to Andrea Nisley, P.O. Box 757, Lexington, NE 68850.
